Sources close to the now rotund singer say his new home is a befitting, well-appointed five-bedroom duplex with a penthouse and boys’ quarters. It is also reported to have been equipped with everything that makes the world a beautiful and merry place to live in. Speaking with E-Punch, the WelluWellu crooner confirmed his latest acquisition, saying, “It is my anniversary gift to my wife. She deserves everything I give her and I waited for this period before moving in to coincide with our one year of marriage.”
Okposo got married to his wife, Ozioma, in a grand ceremony that held July 1st, 2010.
In a related development, the Globacom ambassador tells E-Punch that he will, in August, be unveiled as the first black artiste on US-based Trower Music Group, TMG Records. Okposo adds that he will be unveiled officially on August 15, at the label’s headquarters in America where all the details of the record deal would be revealed. According to his publicist, Media and Marketing Experts, the first project that will be carried out by TMG Records is the re-release of his new album, The Statement, to the international market. The album will be re-produced by multiple Grammy Awards winner, Kevin Bond, with support from Okposo, who is an accomplished producer too. The album may also feature collaborations with different international artistes that include Chevelle Franklyn, Mary Mary, Israel Houghton, Kirk Franklin and Deitrick Haddon if discussions sail through.
Okposo says, “The deal to release my album internationally and place it in every music store across the world is a welcome development. My previous albums were sold outside Nigeria but on a small scale. We believe the new deal will open more doors and boost our image internationally. It is long overdue.”
